TATA to Launch its Compact SUV by the End of 2016! Stay tuned with AutoCater to catch up on exciting news and updates.

TATA is all set to launch its Compact SUV in 2016. The Nexon is expected to be showcased in the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. Its concept was 1st showcased back in 2014 and looks to target the Ford Ecosport & Mahindra TUV 300 among others. This upcoming SUV may look a bit like the Evoque as it will take a few design cues to look aggressive with a premium look.

The choice of engines on the Tata Nexon will include a new 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol and a 1.3-litre Multijet diesel. Transmission options will comprise a 5-speed manual and the F-Tronic AMT on the diesel, if at all. TATA has also been working on a new 1.5-litre diesel engine, however it seems unlikely that it will be offered on the Tata Nexon.

The New Baleno under Nexa launched at 4.99 Lacs.


The new Maruti Suzuki Baleno is all set to compete with the Hyuunda i20, Volkswagen Polo and Honda Jazz. It has been launched at Rs 4.99 lacs (Ex Showroom Delhi) It is Maruti’s second offering after the S Cross under the Nexa Brand.


It measures 3995mm in length, 1745mm in width and is 1470mm tall, improving on the Swift’s length and width of 3,850mm and 1,695mm respectively. The engine options though on the Baleno are identical to the Swift. Its petrol variants are powered by the 83bhp 1.2-litre K12 mill, while the diesel trims comes with the tried-and-tested Fiat-sourced 74bhp 1.3 DDiS diesel motor. Both engines come mated to w five-speed gearboxes, though the petrol Baleno can additionally be had in an automatic variant with a CVT transmission.

Hyundai Creta gets more expensive. Here is why.


The Hyundai Creta gets pricier. When this was launched Hyundai were skeptical about its success due to the price it was launched at. After looking at its average monthly sales of around 7000 units, proved them wrong. It is an amazingly successful car in its segment. The Creta has an almost 6 months waiting period with about 50000 pending orders.


The price has gone up to INR 20000 with the sole reason being to increase its profit margin. The Creta’s base model was launched at INR 8,59,558, now costs INR 8,69,461 making it around INR 10000 more expensive. The top model diesel variant was launched at INR 13,57,770 now costs INR 13,77,771 (Ex Showroom Delhi) making it around INR 20000 more expensive.

Mahindra’s Mojo goes on Sale this Month!


MAhindra will be launching the Mojo on the 16th October. It was the year 2011 when Mahindra Two Wheelers showcased their bike with the Pantero and the Centuro.  The company has gone through a lot of hurdles and although a little late in entering the sports mike market. Mojo is the company’s 1st entrant and therefore means a lot for Mahindra to nail the sports bike market.


Mahindra has started taking pre-orders for the Mojo. If you are really keen on getting it, you can certainly have it ordered it now. Mojo features a digital speedometer with an analogue tachometre with a shift light and low fuel warning indicators. Mojo is powered with a four stroke, liquid cooled, single cylinder that oozes out a maximum power output of 27 BHP & 25 NM.


The Bike will compete with the KTM Duke 200 and 390 and the Honda CBR250R and even the Bajaj AS200. Mojo will have itself priced at 1.5 lakhs.

Suzuki’s new compact crossover The Ignis.


Suzuki has now revealed its iM4 concept, claiming it to still be a concept. This compact crossover has been described as a car that can handle the space between daily life and leisure. There are a few notable changes to that we saw in the concept such as headlamps which are integrated with DRL’s, the side mirrors shape and bumpers have been tweeked a bit.

The Ignis has a decent ground clearance and could come with a 4×4 system which is definitely going to be optional.  Under the hood Suzuki might think about getting a 1 litre turbocharged booster jet engine and a 1.2 litre which will use the SHVS mild hybrid system. The interiors look futuristic with a tablet styled display the infotainment system, which also features a 2 tone dashboard and an automatic gear box.


We could just wait to get some more detailed information/ specs for the Ignis. This will be a great competitor in the market and can’t wait to cater you with the prices.

Mercedes – Maybach S 500 & S 600 now launched.


Mercedes Benz has now launched their S500 & S600 under their sub brand Mercedes – Maybach. Priced at a whopping 1.67 cr (S500) & 2.60 cr (S600) respectively. The Mercedes Maybach is the most prestigious and exclusive offering by Mercedes Benz till date. The S500 will be locally produced in India while the S 600 will be imported as a completely built unit. This has been tagged as the ‘World’s Quietest Production Sedan’


In the rear passengers are positioned away from the window side to create an all new acoustic experience. The centre arm rests come with nappa leather upholstery, embossed Maybach crests, Seats with ‘Hot Stone Massage’ optional 2×2 seats with folding table, standard extended leg support and an entertainment system. Both the S classes come with 12 airbags, night view assist, 360 degree camera, parking assist, crosswind assist, pre safe impulse, tyre pressure monitoring system and a lot more.

Fiat Abarth Punto now being Catered across India!



Bookings for the all new Fiat Abarth Punto are now open across India. Fiat India has announced the official launch Next Month that is in October 2015. Fiat is planning to launch more powerful versions of the Punto and the Avventura under the brand Abarth. The 1st to enter is the Punto Evo and dealers across the nation have started pre orders at 50,000 INR.


The Punto Evo will be powered with a 1.4 Litre T Jet Turbocharged petrol that will juice out a 145 BHP. This high performance car will come in 3 engine options: 1.2 & 1.4 Litre petrol and a 1.3 Litre multi jet diesel engine. It will try to compete the Polo GT TSI which comes with a 7 speed DSG auto gear box producing 105 BHP. Punto Evo would come with a 145 BHP. It is set to be priced at around 10 Lakhs and will come with 16 inch dual tone alloys, Abarth decals on sides, wing mirrors and grille in contrast accents etc. There will be subtle changes to the interiors as well such as red and yellow contrast stitching on seats and Abarth badge on the steering wheel.


The height of the Punto has been reduced by a 20 mm and suspensions stiffened in order to handle the extra power.

Queen Elizabeth, The Queen of England is said to be the 1st Owner of the Bentley Bentayga. Bentayga was released at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show and is Bentley’s 1st ever SUV. The Queen will use this SUV on her property in Scotland for hunting jaunts.


The Bentayga will be Bentleys flagship model and is not said to be only the most expensive SUV in the world but is also the fastest among all. It will be powered by a new twin turbo charged 6 litre W12 engine which will push out a massive 600 bhp along with a mind boggling 900Nm torque. In short a 0-100km/h in just 4.1 seconds.


The Bentayga is set to go on sale in 2016.

Maruti Suzuki’s brand new addition to its existing Buffet of Cars.


It is the 2015 Baleno we talking about that has just been added to Maruti Suzuki’s Buffet of Cars. It will hit the Indian market during Diwali. It will compete the Hyundai I20 and will be retailed at its premium dealership- Nexa.


The Baleno will be available with a K12M petrol and a D13A diesel engine. For now, it is just the diesel that is going to be retailed in the Indian market. This will be Maruti’s 1st CVT and hence could be a strong challenger to the Jazz and Nissan Micra.


The Baleno gets a ground clearance of 170mm, 355 litres of luggage space, turning radius of 4.9m and a 37 litres of fuel tank. It will also be available with 15 and 16 inch wheels. It certainly does look good and you shall expect to see it in the next few weeks.
